The Internet is an awesome sub-group from Oddfuture featuring Syd the Kid and Matt Martian. I love this sub-group because it has my second favourite member (after the underrated Mike G) Syd, singing lead vocals and you actually see her in the video! I find Syd tha Kid so interesting because she is young yet so accomplished (she set up a studio in her parents home and mixes down all the OF tracks). This video is particularly captivating because it shows Syd as a dominant femme in a girl-girl relationship. So its indadvertedly her coming out video for the three people who didnt know she was a lesbian.
Musically The Internet have always reminded me of Dwele and any group produced by the late J-dilla or his brother Illa-J. I love that layered R&B vocal style, it sounds so dreamy and makes me want to listen to it over and over again. I think I must have played They say over thirty times already, I need to check my last.fm
The end part of the video, where Syd throws the knocked out girl onto the kerb reminded me of something Tyler would rap about. Im not going to sit here and analyze the music video at this point (might do in a few days though). Im just going to re-watch it and enjoy the song. Left-Brain features in the song and if you look closely you will see various OF members parading around the amusement park.
